You have 2 choices in getting lookers:

- Develop a mailing list by getting opt-in email subscribers
- Develop website traffic through search engines and advertising

You have several choices in what to offer:

- Become an affiliate (earn commissions) from someone elses product or service
- Buy resell rights to someone elses product or service
- Develop your own product or service (either physical or digital)

Thanks SIperMod. That's a nice distilled version of what we ought to look for.

Do your research and find out what is NOT out there and fill that empty space. I realized that when I started my online business the money would not happen overnight and I was okay with that. I am in this for the long haul and the long term goals are going to pay off quicker than the get money quick ideas.

Sometimes the simple ideas are the best. Do some homework and find out where that gap is and fill it.

I think first u always invest and make ur product/website better in terms of presentation and ranking then u should gradually start working on how to bring in traffic.

consumertreehouse: It would appear to me that while attempting to fill a niche that is presently void would seem like a good idea, I have real doubts as to that approach for most internet marketers (particularly newbies). Not only would that type of search usually take a lot of time, but also a loss of money (unless, of course, money is not a concern and you already have several successful IM projects to support the research).

I would rather be actively involved in a niche that has competition and has shown a strong need and want by potential buyers. For the newbie, I would suggest initally starting out with a structured online marketing program that has proven success --- allowing for the opportunity to learn (and there is a lot to learn) while making money along the way and experiencing some success. There's always the chance to take that experience to the next level (without being overwhelmed or defeated).

The easiest palce to start is maybe Affiliate Programs.

They allow you to start generating income without having
to have your own product but the trick is to find one with
a good converting site.

Another thing you could look at is those $7 offers. They
allow you to purchase an inexpensive product and make
!00% of the sale.

If you go this route make sure that you put up a squeeze page
before you send them to the merchant's site. Believe me that
name and email address is worth more than the $7 or so that
you'll make

Hope this helps,

Hey Dollar, that's a good idea. Seriously, out of all that I've read I missed the idea of getting the customer's name BEFORE passing him on to the sales page. On the plus side I'm just starting in affiliate marketing so I haven't lost any money on this. (Somehow I always thought that the squeeze page WAS the sales page). Got any ideas on setting up sqeeze pages?
Thanks, John
