I bet there are at least one million people out in the world with the same feeling right now. Those millions of people each wasted thousands of dollars on different internet scams.
My first reaction to reading the post is that Fred probably did get taken. But to be sure Fred would need to look over all of the "scams" that he has tried and see if any of them had some sort of legitimacy to them.
As an example - do you know of other people in the businesses that you have chosen that have made it big?
A friend of mine after learning about my interest in ebusinesses gave me a book. This book covered all of the different ways to make big bucks on the I-net. All of the approaches mentioned in the book covered putting something on the web and then watching the money roll in. None of them actually mentioned just how much work you would have to put into the businesses.
I'm going to hand him the book back tomorrow and try to knock some sense into him. Skip the quick hits. If you are going to run a business on the net then you need to treat it like a business.
Here are some of my questions for people trying to start a web business (or any business)
#1 Who is going to sell the item?
#2 Who is going to answer the RFI's?
#3 Do you have a marketing plan?
#4 Do you have marketing budget?
#5 Do you have a business banking account?
#6 Do you have an FEIN?
#7 etc, etc.
In your next business attempt don’t forget the business plan. Set up achievable goals for the next 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, 5 year etc. Then be prepared to quickly change your business model to hit those goals. Notice I didn’t say change the business – I said change the business model you are following.
Good Luck and above all try to have some fun with it.
